BT is suing Google over patent infringement in Android and other services.

British telecom BT has sued Google, claiming Android and numerous other services infringe six of its patents. Filed December 15 in the US District Court in Delaware, the suit names a wide range of infringing products including Android, Google Music, Maps, Search, Places, Google Offers, Google+, and Google’s location-based advertising.

A Google spokesperson told the BBC “We believe these claims are without merit, and we will defend vigorously against them.” BT notes that it has 5,600 patents and patent applications and has invested heavily in mobile technologies over the past two decades, but would not say whether it also intends to launch a similar action in European courts, the BBC reported.
