Canonical has announced that the desktop version of Ubuntu 12.04 will come with five years of support, just like the server LTS versions already do.

Instead of the usual three-year support for a long-term support (LTS) release of Ubuntu on the desktop, Canonical has announced that 12.04 LTS (“Precise Pangolin”) will be supported for five years. That is in keeping with the support period for the server version of an LTS release.
